BAGUIO: THE SUMMER CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES

Summer is coming and we all know that it gets scorching hot in the Philippines or on other tropical countries especially on summer. So most people go to the beach or travel aboard to avoid the heat. But you don't have to travel far to fulfill our dreams of a "Sweater-Weather" place!
The best time to visit Baguio is ,of course, during summer or during the Panagbenga Festival.
And we decided to go there during Panagbenga Festival because, well, we love festivals! lol

From Manila, We rode a Victory Liner Bus to Baguio which costs P445 for a Regular Air-conditioned Bus. The "Deluxe" bus costs P700+. We departed Manila at 1:30am and arrived at around 7:45am. For complete and updated price and schedules, visit their website - www.victoryliner.com

We hired a car and a driver that my friend contacted at Baguio. He charged us P1,800 for an 8hr drive anywhere in the city. There were 7 of us so it only costed us P257.14 each! (He used Innova, btw)

First Day:
We were so lucky that we arrived at Baguio City just in time for the Panagbenga Street Dance!

We bought Strawberry taho while watching the parade. But i wasn't able to take a picture of it. This picture is from my friend who took a picture of it. We were not together that time. Thanks Gay! :D
We met up with my friends after the parade.

1. First thing we did was go to Strawberry Farm at La Trinidad Benguet. And got the chance to pick strawberries! It costs twice than the strawberries sold here. But trust me, you should at least try this once in your life!

I was busy picking strawberries, obviously. lol

We're almost done! Yey!

There are also a lot of stalls selling all kinds of vegetables here on a very affordable price!

2. After strawberry picking with my friends, we had lunch at Rancho Norte at the Ketchup Food Community.

View from the front gate.

Grilled Squid

Red Iced Tea

Tapang Kabayo Meal - It was super delicious!

3. After having our lunch at Rancho Norte, we went straight to The Mansion!
The Mansion - is known as the official summer resident of the President of the Philippines. :)

It was packed with people since we went there during a festival. But nevertheless, we got a couple of nice shots from this luxurious mansion. :)

4. Right across "The Mansion" is one of the entrance to "Wright Park". I think they have many entrance points. Not sure, though. Or more likely, it's just an open Park. :)
My "selfie-lord" friend. haha

Horses for rent!

Took a pose with my friends. :)

5. After taking pictures at the Wright Park, we went to Minesview Park next!

Amazing view at the deck.

Here's another. :)

There's a building full of shops and stores that sells souvenir items and food within Minesview Park, too. Make sure to check them out. :)

6. After shopping for tshirts at Minesview Park, we went straight to The Manor.

We did not do much here. We just rested because we were exhausted. And just took some photos.

7. We then headed to Burnham Park to relax and just let the time pass by. :)
You can rent a boat and enjoy paddling with your friends here!

8. At last! Dinner! We had dinner at Good Taste Restaurant just a few minute walk from Burnham Park. We went there around 7pm and it was packed! The line was long and reached the streets! But we waited in line thinking it would be worth the wait, since many people are willing to line up for their food. And after waiting for roughly 15-20mins, we were able to get a table! yey! Danica and I was the only ones who ate here since our friends decided to go to SM Baguio at that time.
A bowl of Nido Soup.

Their very famous buttered chicken! And indeed, it was delicious! No kidding!

We were disappointed with this "fried" innards. It was not fried at all. Or rather it did not feel "fried" since it was so rubbery! *sigh
We also ordered Blue Lemonade and Iced Tea.

That was our exhausting but super fun 1st day in the City of Baguio. Next up...

Second Day:
1. We woke up early since we planned on going to La Presa, or rather, Mt. Cabuyao. Since the hit series of Abs Cbn "forevermore" was being shot/held there. We were picked up by our driver at 5am to avoid the overwhelming crowd who visits the place.
Rice terraces at Mt. Cabuyao

The suppose-to-be house of Agnes (Liza Soberano)

Look at the view!

The view was spectacular!

There was a poster where you can take a picture of the "Welcome to Sitio La Presa" sign which can be seen at the hit series "Forevermore"

The Tent. (You won't be able to understand what i'm saying if you don't watch Forevermore. haha)

There's also lots of stalls who sell La Presa and Forevermore items on the road.

By the way, cars cannot reach this point of the road so you have to walk for a few meters to be able to reach Agnes' house. :)

2. After taking lots of pictures from "Sitio La Presa", we had breakfast at Cafe in the Sky.
Bangsilog. I was disappointed with this. The egg was so hard, it feels like it was few days old! But i still ate it since i don't want to waste food. *sigh

I ordered their Mountain Brewed Coffee. It was just "okay".

After eating breakfast, we took pictures outside. And the view was beyond Amazing!

We stayed for a couple of minutes here since my "Selfie-lord" friend kept on doing shots on this amazing view. Oh well,  we can't blame him. :)

3. Then we went to the Philippine Military Academy.

These are just some of the military relics/models that is found inside PMA.

My silly friend being his usual silly self. haha

After that, we went back to the house that we were staying in. By the way, we stayed at Capiral Transient House. It was cheap and clean. It costs P2,000 per room which can accommodate up to 6 people. Plus the view was amazing! I highly recommend this place!
You'll wake up on this breathtaking view!

That ends our Baguio Escapade. Please Share if you have time. Thank You. :)
